Program journey
-
A hands-on exploration designed for young students to discover basic techniques, tools and history of a chosen art form. Through guided demonstrations, simple projects and playful exercises, campers will learn foundational skills, colour and composition principles, and how to express ideas visually. Activities are paced for beginners, encourage experimentation and build confidence while sparking curiosity to continue creating. Materials are provided; no prior experience required.
-
Each week, campers tackle a hands-on project that guides them from idea to finished piece. Projects rotate through drawing, painting, mixed media, printmaking and small-scale sculpture, tailored to age and skill level. Students learn core techniques, experiment with materials, and are encouraged to develop a personal concept. Projects include structured skill-building sessions, time for creative exploration, and a brief group critique to reflect on choices and next steps. Finished works are ready for take-home display or inclusion in the camp’s end-of-week showcase.
-
Campers join forces to design and build large-scale artworks — murals, installation pieces, performance sets and community mosaics. Guided by teaching artists, small teams brainstorm concepts, assign roles and learn shared techniques while practising communication and problem-solving. Projects conclude with a public showing where families and friends are invited to celebrate each group’s creativity and teamwork.
-
Showcase your summer’s best work in a relaxed, professional setting. Each student prepares a concise selection of sketches, paintings and mixed-media pieces to present to peers and instructors. Emphasis is on clear visuals, confident artist statements and constructive feedback—helping young artists learn how to organise work, speak about creative choices, and build a polished portfolio for future programs or school applications.
Portfolio Review: A final presentation showcasing completed projects.
Peer Feedback: Engaging in constructive critiques with fellow participants.
Instructor Assessment: Personalized feedback throughout the program.
