Program journey
-
This module introduces the foundational principles of colour theory as they apply to hair, fashion, makeup and visual design. You’ll learn the language of colour, how colours interact, and practical frameworks for selecting and mixing colour harmonies that flatter skin tones and achieve desired aesthetic effects.
-
This module explores complementary colour theory and how to apply it to create balanced, sophisticated designs. You will learn to identify complementary pairs, use contrast effectively, and develop palettes that elevate brand aesthetics without overwhelming the viewer.
-
This module explains colour temperature and its practical implications for hair colour design. You’ll learn to identify warm and cool tones, understand how undertones affect perception, and apply temperature control to achieve predictable, flattering results.
-
This module investigates movement across the spectrum of gender expression, sexual orientation, and identity development. It explores fluidity as a lived reality, the social and institutional structures that shape movement, and practical strategies for supporting individuals as they navigate change. Content is organised so learners gain conceptual clarity, evidence-based practice tools, and critical reflection prompts to apply in clinical, educational, or community settings.
-
This module explores how colour affects perception, emotion and decision-making, and how cultural context shapes colour meaning. You’ll learn core psychological principles, practical applications for design and branding, and frameworks for choosing colour palettes that respect cultural differences while achieving intended emotional and behavioral outcomes.
-
This module explores how colour palettes shape perception, emotion, and brand identity. You’ll learn to construct cohesive palettes, apply colour harmonies, use contrast and hierarchy, and tune colour "vibrations"—the subtle psychological and cultural signals colours send. Practical exercises help you select palettes for projects, refine accessibility, and communicate intent through colour.
-
Module 7 consolidates learning through deliberate practice and real-world application. This stage moves learners from theory to competence by emphasising repeated, structured practice, reflection, feedback, and progressive challenge. The goal is to build transferable skills and confidence so learners can perform independently in realistic contexts.
-
Students will be assessed based on their execution, creativity, understanding of color concepts, and ability to apply them effectively in their artwork. Additionally, creative projects will be assigned to encourage students to explore their creativity and experiment with different artistic mediums. Instructors will provide constructive feedback and guidance to help students improve their skills and develop their artistic abilities throughout the course.
