Embark on a creative journey with our Beginner's Art Course: Drawing and Painting Basics, an immersive 8-week program designed for novice artists eager to explore the fundamentals of drawing and painting. Guided by experienced instructors, participants will engage in hands-on exercises and projects to develop their skills in sketching, shading, perspective, and colour mixing. This module establishes the foundations of drawing: seeing, mark-making, proportion, value, and composition. It’s designed for beginners and returning artists who want a structured reintroduction.

This module examines how composition and perspective shape photographic storytelling. You will learn principles that guide visual balance, focal emphasis, depth, and narrative point of view. Emphasis is placed on practical application through controlled exercises and critique.

This module provides a focused introduction to essential painting techniques used across acrylic, oil, and watercolour media. You will learn foundational brushwork, colour mixing principles, surface preparation, and methods for building depth and texture. Practical exercises and demonstrations reinforce technique mastery and support development of a personal painting approach.

Create a final body of work that demonstrates technical proficiency in painting, a clear conceptual throughline, and development of personal voice. This project synthesizes skills and concepts from Module 4: colour, composition, paint handling, surface treatment, and thematic coherence.
